Thémis (Not Fancy Anyone) is the first Laika from Yakutia to join the Fire on Fire adventure. Her arrival marked a new chapter in the development of our kennel, driven by our desire to preserve and promote another great Nordic working breed.
Now a year and a half old, Thémis has experienced her first real winter on the team. She is gradually learning what it means to work as part of a team, taking long trips on snow, and facing all the physical and mental demands of life as a sled dog. Like all young dogs, she’s learning at her own pace. The goal isn’t immediate performance, but to build a solid foundation so that, season after season, she can develop her endurance, confidence, and love of running.
Curious, attentive, and always eager, Thémis learns quickly and is already showing great work ethic. Her well-balanced temperament, adaptability, and willingness to work with people make her a particularly promising dog for the future. Although she belongs to a different breed, Thémis is being raised according to the same principles that guide Fire on Fire as a whole: respecting the dog, preserving her natural abilities, and seeking a balance between health, temperament, beauty, and working ability.
Her journey has only just begun, and we can't wait to see how she grows over the seasons.
